This heroic piece was originally designed for the state capitol in Utah. Eight years later Brigham Young University commissioned Dee Jay Bawden to do a Brigham Young Monument for the academy and this is the one they chose. The Brigham Young Monument was unveiled at BYU in mid 2003.
